Applicant Scoring
- First time applicants -- add 20 points
- On-line body modification contributions
- BME Experience submissions (max 5 points)
- 1 point per BME experience accepted
- 1 additional point per BME experience accepted as a featured item
- No need to document more than 5 experiences
- BME Photo submissions (max 5 points)
- 0.1 points per photo accepted.
- Photos must be substantially different.
- Max 1.0 points per section.
- Genital mod pictures will not be accepted or counted from minors.
- No need to document more than 50 unique pictures submitted
- BME Experience Reviews (max 10 points)
- Total number of experiences reviewed, multiplied by reviewer weight, divided by 100.
- Real-world body modification involvement
- Number of BME/IAM events organized (max 5 points)
- 1 point per event attended by at least 20 people
- 0.5 points per event attended by at least 10 people
- Number of BME/IAM events assisted with
- 0.5 points per event attended by at least 20 people
- 0.25 points per event attended by at least 10 people
- Provide documentation from event organizer listing your contributions
- 2 points max for events assisted.
- Real world body modification involvement
- Max 5 points
- Can include anything like working in a shop, membership in a suspension group, organization of piercing gun protests, etc.
- Must provide written documentation.
- Real-world community involvement
- Community activities
- Max 5 points
- Can include any volunteer or community activities
- Must provide written documentation
- Letters of recommendation (max 10 points)
- (scored as 0, 1, 2, or 3 points per letter)
- 3 letters required
- Maximum 2 letters from IAM members (0-2 points)
- Minimum 1 letter from instructor or employer within last year (0-3 points)
- Educational achievement
- Max 5 points
- Must provide documentation of percentile rank graduation from high school (or equivalent). As this varies widely from country to country, contact wlfdrgn for help in determining an acceptable equivalent, if percentile rank is not available.
- Percentile rank divided by 20 for score
- Essay
- Max 50 points
- All judges score 0-5.
- Average score multiplied by 10
- Sample essay topics (varies annually)
- What do your mods mean to you?
- What laws should apply to the modification industry?
- What is the role of body modification in society?
- Tie breakers
- High score on essay from tied high-scoring applicants wins.
- In the event of further tie, applicant with greatest combined experience/picture submission score wins.
- In the event of further tie, voting judges will vote on winner.
